Boeing is the headline name in the aerospace cluster in South Carolina, but recent data shows that the industry has a broad base that extends beyond the company and its suppliers and across the state. A study published by the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness put an estimated value of $19 billion in economic impact for the state from the aerospace cluster. That’s an increase of $2 billion from the 2014 estimate.
